Latina models I love! Naomi Preizler

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  19 year old Naomi has just been named one of the "Ten models to watch this Fashion Week" by New York magazine and "Hot model on the rise" by Stylecaster.com.
Alexander Wang, Rag & bone, Cushie et Ochs, Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Kane and Teen Vogue are just a few of her clients.  Her mixture of dark bushy eyebrows and bleached blond hair have taken over the runways of Spring 2011.  Love her green eyes!

Makeup at Sophie Theallet SS2011 show inspired by Chavela Vargas!

Love it!  In another example of high fashion taking its cues from Latina culture at the Sophie Theallet SS2011 the makeup inspiration was Chavela Vargas- remember "La Llorona"?  As for lately, her music has been featured in most Almodovar films as well as in the movie "Frida".  Isabel Vargas Lizano (born April 17, 1919) is a Costa Rican born singer.  She was hugely successful during the 1950s, 1960s and the first half of the 70s, touring in Mexico, the United States, France and Spain and was close to many prominent artists and intellectuals of the time, including Agustin Lara, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Dolores Olmedo and Jose Alfredo Jimenez.  She partly retired in the late 1970s due to a 15 year-long battle with alcoholism, which she has described in her autobiography (Y si quieres saber de mi pasado [And if you want to know about my past], published in 2002) as "my 15 years in hell" At 81 years old, she publicly declared that she was a lesbian.

Spring 2011 NY Fashion week makeup Days 1, 2

Spring 2011 seems to be all about color and we've been seeing it not only on the clothes but also on the beautiful fruity shades of makeup that have been coloring the runways in NY so far.

Here are some great examples:

Check out the color at Z by Zac Pozen by Charlotte Willer from Maybelline NY.  It was all over the place with models wearing green and bright blue eyeshadow, yellow fake eyelashes and then OPI did crazy nails to match:

At Chritian Siriano it was all about a sun kissed cheek.  Love that look and it looked so gorgeous  as the girls walked down the runway:

And then there were the orange glossy lips at Cynthia Rowley worn with a cool strip of bottom fake lashes:

And at Richie Rich squares of bright color (and wigs to match) stained the model's eyes for a 90's club kid type of look:

Kat von D's new "Adora" line

This limited edition line is at Sephora now.  If you are not shy about wearing red lipstick try "Painted love".  I was able to sample it and it is a real red (in a very burlesque, pin-up way)  The texture was also very nice and it would make for a great stain.

New Cosmo shoot with Max Palacio out now

Hey everyone!  I've been away from the blog for a couple of weeks-busy working which is a good thing and that means that I will have lots of news and tips to share with you. 
Check out my work in the September issue of Cosmopolitan en Español.  It's a fashion story which features Argentinian actor/model Max Palacio.  You might remember him as Kelly Bensimon's hot date in the Real Housewifes of NY- Also, he had a cameo appearance in "Sex in the City 2" as well as Telemundo's "12 Corazones".
Here are some of the shots as well as a backstage video from the shoot.  The female model was wearing a fall sexy, smoky eye with eyeliner all around the eyes.
