First is the cover that we shot at Siren Studios in Hollywood. Some of the coolest shoots in town happen right there at their studios and we were lucky enough to have the top floor studio that comes with an amazing view terrace. Our model is wearing an Herve Leger Spring 2012 dress, we wanted her skin to look bronzed so I mixed a bit of makeupforever's PRO Body Tan gel. Her makeup was just a classic smoky eye with light neutral lips. I used Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Beach Blonde and Iced Cocoa. Concentrating the Iced Cocoa on the eyelid and the outer corners to help open up her eyes. Then I added a very thin line of liquid liner with a couple of coats of lash love mascara followed by a final touch of Ultimate mascara.

Esta es la portada que hicimos en los estudios Siren en Hollywood. Las mejores sesiones de foto en Los Angeles las hazen en este mismo estudio y nosotros tuvimos la oportunidad de trabajar en el penthouse el cual tiene una terraza con unas vistas muy bellas de Hollywood y la ciudad de Los Angeles. Para la portada la modelo vistió un vestido de Hervé Leger y como era para el empiezo de el verano le pusimos el Pro Body Tan Gel de Make up Forever en todo el cuerpo para darle un color mas bronceado a su piel.
El look del maquillaje fué el clásico look Cosmo- ojos ahumados y labios claros. Asi que use Mary Kay Cream Eye Color en Beach Blonde & Iced Cocoa. Concentre el Iced Cocoa con mis dedos en el parpado movil. Después apliqué una línea muy fina de Liquid Eyeliner seguido por dos capas de Lash Love Mascara y acabando con una capa de Ultimate mascara.

I'm loving the makeup and hair at Dolce's Fall 2012 show a few days ago. Makeup was just gorgeous and the hair reminded me of those beautiful Mexican and Guatemalan women who wear their "trenzas" adorned with beautiful ribbons full of color. Make up artist Pat McGrath showed us that a beautiful, classic look is always in style! She said she was influenced by the look of Italian country women, so it was all about simple but gorgeous makeup. The look was all about a bright and open lid with a beautiful soft contour. Perfect brows and a strong flushed cheek. Here are some backstage shots:
Latina influenced hair and makeup at Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2012
This is really one of my favorite makeup looks. Keeping the lid light makes the eyes look bigger and brighter and the contour on the crease and under the eye allows you to make them as dramatic as you'd like without having too use a lot of colors. Skip the eyeliner but add a few coats of mascara.
And right after declaring that all models should keep their eyebrows bleached Pat all of a sudden colored them back slightly for really a brow that is just perfect- not too thin or overly done.
Notice how she applies the blush, it's really strong on the apples and then blended upwards to get that really natural "flushed" look. Dab some flesh tone lipstick with your fingers over some lip balm and you are done!
Hairstylist Guido was influenced by the Italian "Madonna" but it truly reminds me of Indigenous Latinas who wear their hair in similar styles. Check out the finished look on Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls:
