In this month's Cosmopolitan en Español I was asked to show some great lip and nail options for the Summer months. They wanted color and this is the time to use it. You can click on the pictures to make them bigger and see the tips but if you don't speak Spanish I will list all the products here.

En la revista Cosmopolitan de este mes me pidieron que enseñara colores para los labios y esmaltes de uñas para usar este Verano. Aquí les enseño las fotos pero también les explico debajo de cada una cuales fueron los productos que usé para lograr estos "looks".

I do get a lot of inspiration from the Runway shows each season. I think it's a great way to update your look by just taking one or two things and adapting to your own look. In this case orange was a HUGE color in the Spring Summer 2012 fashion trends. There were a lot of neon and extremely bright shades of orange but I wanted to show how you can actually wear it. I chose a lipstick and nail color from Mary Kay because they are not too bright but instead show up as lovely shades of nectarine. I matched the two but remember there's no rule here!!

Mi inspiración viene muchas veces de los "looks" que veo en las pasarelas de moda cada estación. Creo que es la mejor manera que puedes cambiar tu maquillaje usando lo que vez como una guía y adaptarlo a tu propio gusto. En este caso el enfoque fue en el color naranja que fué uno de los más populares para el Verano 2012. Colores fuertes y neon se ven bien en una pasarela pero en persona preferí enseñarles estos tonos de esmalte y labial ya que no son tan brillantes y un poco más naturales.

In this shot I wanted to show the fun pink trend of the season. I loved the look of a light pink lipstick combined with a brighter nail shade.

The way to "turn up the volume" of your Summer look is with a red lipstick. I wanted to use a lipstick that has the perfect texture- not too glossy and not too matte. I used CoverGirl's Blast Flipstick because you can not only use the lighter side to tone down the red if it's too bright but it also gives the lips that perfect highlight as you can see in the picture here. Combine it with a neutral eye palette and you are set to go!

La manera de logral un look supersensual para el verano es usando los labios rojos! Usa un labial que no sea muy brillante o muy matte. Por eso, utilizé el Blast Flipstick de CoverGirl ya que tiene dos tonos, el lado claro lo puedes usar para bajar el color rojo y adaptarlo a tu color de piel. Combinalo con sombras en tono neutro, para que tu boca se luzca más llamativa!
